A leading expert has warned the NHS will "have to change" or risk being overwhelmed by 5,000 new coronavirus hospital admissions per day.
Oxford University's Professor James Naismith fears hospitalisations are on course to surpass 10 per cent of official daily cases, as the virus continues to run rampant.
Britain has seen eight straight days of over 50,000 cases, with 26,626 Covid patients currently in hospital beds in England alone.
