Covid hospital deaths up by 465 including healthy 19-year-old as lockdown ends

A further 465 people have died of Covid-19 in UK hospitals. In England 372 more people died, four more in Northern Ireland, 38 in Scotland and 51 in Wales.

The youngest person to lose their life was a 19-year-old in England, who did not have any underlying health conditions. In England the worst affected area was the Midlands, where 100 people died, followed by London (26), the North East and Yorkshire (61), the North West (92), the South East (34) and the South West (28).

Yesterday a further 422 Covid hospital deaths were recorded across the UK. Of those, 23 were in Wales, 34 in Scotland, 15 in Northern Ireland and 350 in England.
