'Do not drive to beauty spots or open spaces for exercise': GMP issue warning ahead of another weekend in lockdown

Greater Manchester Police are urging the public not to drive to open spaces or beauty spots in order to exercise. It comes after it was announced that the lockdown in the UK has been extended and will not be reviewed again until on or around May 7.

The guidelines will remain the same, however, and police forces will continue to follow the NPCC and College of Policing guidance that has been issued on the Government legislation on coronavirus.

This means that they can still issue warnings and fines to those who flout those rules. The Crown Prosecution Service has also shared information with police forces outlining what they consider constitutes a reasonable excuse legally for people to leave their home.
