Staff at a dog rescue centre have saluted the kind hearted Dumfries police for their food donation following a whipround to raise cash.Officers collected £500 at the town’s cop shop and bought dog food, biscuits and treats for the animals at Glencaple’s Canine Rescue Centre during the pandemic.Assistant manager, Jon Foot, told of the centre staff’s gratitude for the gesture after suffering a drop in donations of cash and dogfood during the coronavirus crisis.He said: “We are absolutely delighted with the donation.“The Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre is completely self funded - we don’t get any help from the Government.“And the main source of our income is from the six charity shops we have in the Dumfries and Galloway area but
