The owners of an East Kilbride care home at the centre of a deadly coronavirus outbreak have hit out at delays to test staff and residents.
Whitehills Care Home, which cares for over 100 residents, has 39 staff absent for reasons linked to COVID-19 with four confirmed cases amongst workers.Worryingly, 17 staff have been showing symptoms, with six of the 28 put forward for testing rejected because they didn’t meet the criteria – a further 14 are waiting on results.This comes after the tragic death of three elderly residents because of the disease, with national figures showing a quarter of all COVID deaths in Scotland were in care homes.There are also nine positive tests among residents and 16 suspected cases.Now the operator of Whitehills,
