Almost half of the deaths from Covid-19 in the region have been recorded away from hospitals, according to startling new figures.The latest release of data from the National Records of Scotland has revealed there are now 124 dead across the Forth Valley area from the virus with 57 of those occurring away from hospital.The harrowing data shows 45 of those deaths took place at care homes with 12 being recorded at home or another non-hospital setting.It reveals the scale of the challenge faced by care staff and community health workers outside of hospitals locally and across the country.In Stirling, the figures total deaths across the area are now 39.Fifteen of those fatalities happened away from hospital, with 12 being recorded at care homes.
