Eddie Large advocated for change in UK organ donation law after his 2002 heart transplant before he died from the coronavirus.

Before his passing, advocated for an 'opt out' system to be put in place in the UK after he was eternally grateful for receiving a heart transplant himself.

On Thursday, the funnyman's son Ryan McGinnis, broke the devastating news that Eddie contracted Covid-19 in hospital and died alone at the age of 78.

He was in hospital as he was having problems with his heart - that was donated to him 18-years-ago. Eddie received a heart transplant in 2002 after he was rushed to hospital with heart failure and was told he may not survive.
