It was confirmed today that comedian Eddie Large died, aged 78, from heart failure after contracting coronavirus in hospital.
Despite a successful career and a larger-than-life personality, Eddie had underlying health conditions that he battled behind the scenes.
His real name was Edward Hugh McGinnis, although he was better known for for his role as Large, alongside his peer Syd Little, more formerly known as Little.
The dynamic duo were propelled to fame after they landed their big break on the BBC talent show Opportunity Knocks. Within five years the pair had their own primetime sketch show, The Little and Large Show which was later followed by the ITV hit, Who Do You Do?
