The EFL are planning to return to action on June 6 in order to complete the 2019/20 season and ensure the financial future of many lower league clubs.

Football around the globe remains on lockdown amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but there is a growing desire to return to action as soon as it is safely possible in order to ensure that clubs don't go bankrupt.

An emergency fund of £50million has been set up in order to help struggling Championship, League One and League Two sides, while Premier League clubs are also feeling the strain during the lack of action.

The top-flight could also resume on the same weekend as the lower leagues, with all matches taking place behind closed doors.
