Man blasted for driving 55 miles from Liverpool 'to exercise' in lockdown speaks out

A man who was blasted by police for driving 55 miles from Liverpool to Pendle Hill to exercise has spoken out. Police slammed Stephen, 46, for being "ill equipped" and added he had "no map, no compass and no idea".

He was then ordered to drive back home after officers found him in Barley on Tuesday, April 14. At the time, Ribble Valley Police said: "Today we have removed an individual who thought it was okay to drive from Liverpool to Barley to walk up Pendle Hill. "His justification for this was his local hills were ‘closed to the public’ and he needs to exercise as he has high blood pressure.
