The FA Cup’s plan could see hundreds of non-league clubs miss out on the opportunity of an incredible cup run in 2020/21 season.
Coronavirus’ impact on sport saw the world’s oldest tournament paused before the quarter-final stage in March. Organisers are hoping to play out the rest of the fixtures over the summer, with the final played between August 5 and August 8.
But the Mail have reported that the domestic tournament is set to exclude several small clubs for the new season. The tournament gets started in August during the regular season as 739 clubs are whittled down in the preliminary rounds to 64 as the Premier League and Championship enter in the third round.
