Kate Garraway has said her husband is “still with us, but what a battle it is” after he was admitted to hospital with coronavirus.
The TV presenter shared the message alongside a video clip of her taking part in the Clap for Carers. Derek Draper, 52, a former lobbyist and political adviser, was taken to hospital at the end of March.
Garraway said that she has “so much to be grateful for tonight”. The Good Morning Britain host, also 52, added: “Derek is still with us but what a battle it is. “So grateful too for our amazing NHS doing so much for Derek every day – wonderful to see all the support for them and our key workers every Thursday.” Garraway has shared regular updates on her husband’s condition to coincide with the Clap for Carers on
