Last Friday, Bandcamp waived its service fee on sales for a day, putting more money in the pockets of musicians who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a statement from Bandcamp today, fans spent $4.3 million over the day, with over 800,000 pieces of music and merch sold on the site. "That’s more than 15 times our normal Friday," the company said in a statement, "and at the peak, fans were buying 11 items per second." Of course, you should keep the sales on Bandcamp going throughout the pandemic and beyond.
