National Entitlement Card (NEC) is a Smartcard that gives people access to various public services and facilities across Scotland.
It’s sometimes referred to as a ‘saltire or concessions card’ and is supported by the Scottish Government to deliver national and local services to people over 60 and those with disabilities.
The card gives holders free bus travel across Scotland and, through the Strathclyde Concessionary Travel Scheme, reduced fares on trains and Subway in the Strathclyde area.
