Clara Amfo broke down in tears as she told her Radio 1 listeners she'd missed a show over George Floyd 's death. The presenter was absent from her BBC show yesterday, telling fans she didn't have the mental strength to do it.
Like many people around the world, Clara was deeply affected by George's death. The unarmed black man was pulled from his car by police officers in Minnesota and pinned to the ground by his throat.
He was pinned for eight minutes and was heard telling officers that he couldn't breathe, but they persisted. Speaking on her show today, a tearful Clara said: "As you would have noted, I wasn’t in work yesterday.
