Glastonbury Festival has been cancelled for the second year in a row as the coronavirus pandemic rages on in the UK. Organisers Michael and Emily Eavis said that they "moved heaven and earth” to ensure that the event would go ahead in June this year.

But the pair have now admitted defeat in their efforts and the site of the arts festival will now undergo another year of “enforced fallow”.

Around 200,000 people normally gather for the huge event, which would not be allowed under current lockdown restrictions.People who have put down a deposit for tickets to the festival will be given a chance to roll their £50 over towards the scheduled event next year.In a statement, Michael and Emily said that they hope the festival in 2022 will be "really.
