Graham Norton has landed a prime role in Will Ferrell’s movie Eurovision – but he won’t require acting classes. The Netflix comedy is about two Icelandic singers Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir (Ferrell and Rachel McAdams) who are given the chance to represent their country.
And Norton, 57, will be a Eurovision commentator delivering camp and cutting banter about the acts – in other words, himself.
Will said of his film: “Given the spectacle, the campness and the intoxicating music in Eurovision I always thought ‘Someone is gonna make a movie about this” and no-one ever has.
So we got the ball rolling to make one.” The BBC star is not the only famous face in the film as some rather well known Eurovision faces pop up too.
