The coronavirus death toll in Greater Manchester topped 200 on Saturday, as the region suffered its biggest daily rise in fatalities.
At least 208 people diagnosed with Covid-19 have now died in hospitals across the region, the NHS said. That's an increase of 43 in 24 hours, NHS England data published today showed.
In the UK, there have been a total of 4,313 coronavirus deaths in hospitals - an increase of 708. It's also the highest national day-on-day rise since the outbreak began.
NHS England figures are published for each hospital trust. They show more people have died at Salford Royal Hospital than at any other in Greater Manchester.
