Prime Minister Boris Johnson wants hairdressers to reopen ahead of schedule, say reports. That is, so long as dentist-style PPE is in place.

Since March 23, Brits have been unable to visit salons for a haircut or colour. Initially, hairdressers were due to open on July 4, as part of phase two of the easing of lockdown restrictions.

But this could change, as Health Secretary Matt Hancock implied he wants to re-start the industry. The Daily Telegraph reports that Boris Johnson is also keen for barbers and hairdressers to return before the end of June.

The Hair and Barber Council have given the green light to open within the next two weeks. Meaning that hairdressers could re-open by June 15.
