Ontario’s first COVID-19-related death was confirmed on March 17. Provincial health officials say a 77-year-old man tested positive for COVID-19 after coming into contact with another person who was confirmed positive.
Health officials also announced the death of a second person in Ontario — a man in his 50s who was already being treated for another condition, and the death of a third person linked to the virus on March 21.
The province also announced 47 new cases on March 22, bringing the total to 425. Eight cases of the virus in the province have also been resolved as of March 22.
