NORTH PHILADELPHIA - It’s been two months since Temple University Police Sergeant Christopher Fitzgerald was murdered in the line of duty.Many people in the community are still honoring his legacy and showing support for his family.

Saturday, it was all about a joyride on motorcycles.Hundreds of motorcycles revved through Temple University on Saturday in memory of Sergeant Christopher Fitzgerald.They first gathered in Port Richmond and included individual riders, law enforcement motorcycle clubs, police and the Fitzgerald Family."We talk about him a lot and we miss him a lot.

My kids are also a mini-him so their personalities, it’s like he’s still here, just holding onto the happy memories, and that incredible smile that he had," said wife Marissa Fitzgerald.RELATED COVERAGE:"The roots are deep for us in the city.

(AP) - Oprah Winfrey delighted graduates at her alma mater Tennessee State University on Saturday, telling the story of how she fell one credit short of graduating as she launched the media career that would make her a household name.Giving the commencement address at the historically Black university, Winfrey recalled that she was living with her father in East Nashville while attending college, helping out in his store, and presenting the weekend news at a Black radio station.

Temple University names ex-dean, provost JoAnne Epps as acting president

PHILADELPHIA - Former Temple University law school dean and provost JoAnne Epps has been named acting president of the university. She vowed to focus on safety and enrollment amid spiraling crime near the north Philadelphia campus and other issues during her predecessor's tumultuous tenure of less than two years."I am obviously humbled and excited and really looking forward to being able to make a contribution to the university that I so love," Epps said in an interview with the paper.
