NEW DELHI: India on Tuesday said it has placed two drugs hydroxychloroquine--an anti malarial found suitable for the treatment of covid-19--and paracetamol, an anti-pyretic, under the licensed category for exports while freeing up 14 other drugs for export completely.
Exports of all 16 drugs were banned by the Indian government last month following the spread of covid-19. There has been a steady increase in the number of covid-19 cases in the country, with over 4,500 people infected so far and 122 deaths.
