Millions of people in London and the South East have been placed under new Tier 4 restrictions, with Health Secretary Matt Hancock warning the new measures could last for months and be extended UK-wide.
Non-essential shops were ordered to close from Sunday, with the official guidance to "stay at home" unless you have a reasonable excuse to do otherwise.
This includes going to work if it cannot be done from home, shopping for essentials such as food and medicine, attending education or training, using registered childcare, outdoor exercise and for medical reasons.
It means those heading out for Christmas essentials may find their options are limited, with restrictions on where you can shop and what choices you have.
