Israeli scientists have isolated a key coronavirus antibody which they claimed is a "significant breakthrough" towards developing a vaccine against the disease.
The Israeli defence minister revealed the huge breakthrough yesterday which has been carried out in its main biological research laboratory, Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR).
In a statement, Defence Minister Naftali Bennett said the “monoclonal neutralising antibody can neutralise it (the disease-causing coronavirus) inside carriers." The statement went on to add that Mr Bennett visited the laboratory and was briefed “on a significant breakthrough in finding an antidote for the coronavirus”.
