The top Tory added a new line to his long history of insensitive comments - claiming parents who are suffering should "actually celebrate the phenomenal success of the British nation".
Brits have had weeks of trouble booking coronavirus tests after demand surged, with long queues in hotspot areas and some people being told to walk hundreds of miles to bag a slot.
A rationing list will be brought in within days to prioritise NHS staff, carers and teachers - meaning some people with symptoms will no longer be able to get a test straight away.
