Jamie Carragher has cast doubt on the prospect of his former club Liverpool signing Timo Werner from RB Leipzig this summer.
Liverpool had been widely expected to swoop for Werner this summer, with the German striker having scored 21 goals in 26 Bundesliga appearances during the campaign.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a known admirer of the 24-year-old, and the feeling appears to be mutual, with Werner having said he would prefer a move abroad rather than to Bayern Munich, who are also keen on him.
But former Liverpool defender Carragher fears the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic will prevent Klopp from landing his £51million top target.
