Liverpool fell agonisingly short of Premier League glory in their dramatic title chase with Manchester City last season. The Reds still went on to win the Champions League and were considered by many to be unfortunate not to lift the top flight crown after registering an impressive 97 point haul.
But that did not stop Jurgen Klopp striving for more and finding the improvement needed to get even better. Whilst a quiet transfer window saw his squad largely remain the same, the Reds returned for the new season a different animal.
After 29 games, they have delivered 27 wins and dropped just five points to leave them on the verge of Premier League glory at the time of the coronavirus pandemic.
