Liverpool are reportedly in the race for Nicolo Zaniolo - as they look to land another gem from Roma. The Reds have hit the jackpot by raiding the Italian club in recent years with Alisson and Mohamed Salah becoming star performers at either end of the pitch.

Top talent Zaniolo could now follow suit with Italian newspaper Il Tempo claiming Jurgen Klopp’s side have ‘taken steps’ towards the 20-year-old playmaker.

Zaniolo, who has already won five senior caps for Italy and scored two goals, was expected to command a fee of around €80million (£72m).

But it is now claimed Roma are facing a financial crisis with their takeover stalled due to the coronavirus pandemic and he could be on the market for a cut-price fee.
