Jason Manford has revealed that he was rejected for an £8-per-hour job at Tesco amid the coronavirus pandemic. The 38-year-old comedian took to his official Instagram account to share the news with his 265,000 followers as he confessed he was "livid" by the supermarket's decision.
Sharing a print screen of his application being rejected, the funnyman joked that he was "only trying to do his bit" to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
Taking to the caption, he told his followers that he will be "watching" the person who did get the job. He said: "Absolutely livid Tesco.
I was only trying to do my bit." Jason went on to joke that he hopes the person who got the job at the Tesco Express in Wilmslow, Cheshire "does a better job".
