Tesco has issued a sweet response after rejecting comedian Jason Manford's application for a £8-an-hour temporary supermarket job.
The northern funnyman had joked he was "absolutely livid" to get a rejection email from the mega chain after trying his luck with a customer assistance job at his local branch. "I was only trying to do my bit I hope the better person got and enjoys the job, I'll be watching," he quipped on Twitter.
