Jo Whiley has pulled out of her radio show as her sister battles coronavirus in hospital. She announced on Twitter : "I can’t do my @BBCRadio2 show this evening.
My sister Frances is v poorly in hospital with Covid. I don’t feel shiny or happy tonight, I feel very scared. However I’ll be listening to @willyoung who I know will light up our kitchen in the depths of our darkness" Frances, 53, who has a rare genetic syndrome called Cri du Chat, has been staying at a care home that suffered an outbreak of Covid-19 last week.
Just this week, Jo had spoken of her frustration at being offered her coronavirus jab before her vulnerable sister. The 55-year-old said she felt like she was "living through a nightmare" as she vented her frustration.
