Kerala reports second covid-19 death

ERNAKULAM : A 68-year old man died of novel coronavirus at Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, taking the number of covid-19 deaths in the state to two.

He was suffering from high blood pressure, renal failure and thyroid related problems for years and had undergone dialysis during the covid-19 treatment, the hospital said in a statement.

His condition worsened subsequently and was put under ventilator support for the last five days, it added. The funeral of the deceased will be conducted according to the health protocol issued by the government, the hospital said.

Earlier, a 69-year old native of Ernakulam district in Kerala had died after testing positive for the virus. He suffered heart related ailments.
