Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Kirstie Allsopp was 'cut-off' mid-sentence on today's Good Morning Britain amid a heated row with Piers Morgan. The TV presenter, who was speaking live from her home in Devon, got into a squabble with Piers over his 'anger' during the coronavirus outbreak.

Kirstie claimed it was important to be "calm and sensible" with the nation in lockdown - but Piers reminded her that "people are going to die".

The pair got into a tense stand-off which ended when the GMB theme music started playing while Kirstie was trying to make a point.

It all started when Kirstie said: "I think it's important at this point to be calm and sensible and tone things down a little bit and not be as angry." Piers replied: "I am angry.
