Labour MP Rosie Duffield has resigned as party whip after admitting she broke lockdown rules with her married lover. The MP for Canterbury and Whitstable was forced to apologise last night after the Mail on Sunday revealed she met with partner James Routh in April.
The pair are understood to have gone on a socially distanced walk while Mr Routh was still living with his wife. The paper also claims Ms Duffield, 48, did not deny that she had allowed him to visit her home in Canterbury during the coronavirus lockdown.
