COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police said 6 people were arrested for their involvement in assaulting a group of students from the Ragama Medical Faculty.Four students of the Ragama Medical Faculty were injured following an assault by an outside group early on Wednesday (2).Sri Lanka Police said three students were admitted to the Ragama Hospital and another was admitted to the Negombo Hospital.The injured were all students who were at the Men’s Dormitory of the Ragama University and were 4th-year students.According to the students, 15 people arrived in two vehicles and carried out an assault.Sri Lanka Police said one person was arrested and one vehicle was seized.University students who were witnesses to the assault told News 1st that an Identity Card noting ‘Personal Staff of MP Arundhika Fernando’ fell off one of the attackers.

PHILADELPHIA - A small street in the Germantown section of Philadelphia is causing big problems for neighbors who say an ongoing construction project has turned it into one of the most dangerous in the city. The 5500 block of Morton Street is a one-way road, adorned with the proper signage that warns motorists not to enter through the wrong side. PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a security guard was shot in the foot during an argument with a pair of unruly customers outside a North Philadelphia Rite Aid Tuesday night.Philadelphia Police Captain John Walker told reporters that a man and woman were asked to leave the store at the intersection of Broad and Oxford streets around 9 p.m."They were believed to be a little bit indignant to the people in the store, so the security guards asked them to leave," Walker said.After the two customers were ushered outside the store by security, Small said the man and one of the security guards went to the AMC parking lot across the street. Police say an argument escalated to a fistfight during which the man pulled out a gun and shot the 41-year-old security guard in the foot. He was taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition, authorities said. The shooting was blocks away from Temple University's campus and prompted the school to share an alert on Twitter.No arrests were reported immediately after the shooting.

PHILADELPHIA - Surveillance video obtained by FOX 29 shows the moment a woman working behind the counter at a Philadelphia store exchanged gunfire with two robbery suspects Tuesday morning. The incident occurred inside a store on the 5500 block of Torresdale Avenue in Philadelphia's Wissinoming neighborhood. Video shows two male suspects entering the store one at a time, with the first suspect walking up to the female clerk and another employee appearing to be holding a firearm. The second suspect appears to pull a firearm from his waistband as he enters the store.  A dog that was inside the store jumps on the first suspect as gunfire erupts, with the female clerk appearing to exchange gunfire with at least one of the suspects.The suspects then flee the store with the other employee appearing to give chase. A store clerk is in critical condition after police say she was involved in a shootout with two robbery suspects Tuesday morning that also left one of the suspects with multiple gunshot wounds.The clerk, a 32-year-old woman was shot multiple times in the hip and groin area.
