Mother of four and grandmother of six, Rosie Mair is a weel-kent face in and around Laurieston, the place of her birth.She and husband Ian stay at Bellymill and, in Rosie’s words, “look efter a wheen o’ sheep” as a hobby.But Rosie, 74, has been far from a home bird.She worked in the laboratory at ICI for seven years after leaving school and, after she and Ian got married, flew out to Australia on a government emigration scheme for young people keen to seek pastures new.“We decided to go out there and see what life was like on the other side of the world,” said Rosie.“Folk are the same the world over.“We met a lot of nationalities and found that if you are are nice to people they tend to be nice back.”After three years Down Under, the couple
