FOX NEWS - A massive great white shark stalking the East Coast was spotted near the Carolinas on Monday after earlier being tracked off the coast of New Jersey, according to researchers.Ironbound, the 12-foot, 4-inch shark weighing nearly 1,000 pounds, made headlines after migrating from the Carolinas up the coast to New Jersey late last month.As of Monday, it appears the great white returned to the Carolinas, according to OCEARCH shark researchers who keep track of sharks’ migratory patterns via a tag tracking system.Researchers believe a white shark mating site is located off the Carolinas, the Boston Herald reported.OCEARCH Chief Scientist Robert Hueter told the outlet last week that Ironbound may have left the site early ahead of the other sharks, adding that is unclear what sparked the migration.Despite Ironbound’s apparent return to southern waters, New Jersey may not have seen the last of the great white. Hueter said that the sharks will usually start migrating to northern waters in mid-to-late May and arrive in those areas beginning in June.Ironbound is considered the "leader of the pack," according to Hueter, who described the apex predator as "formidable" and "not the prettiest animal."Ironbound was first tagged in October 2019 near Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

FBI is warning parents that teen boys are increasingly being targeted in online "sextortion" schemes. FBI Boston Division’s Child Exploitation-Human Trafficking Task Force warned parents and caregivers on Wednesday about an increasing number of reports of adults posing as young girls who coerce young boys through social media to produce sexual images and videos and then extort them for money. In the so-called "sextortion" schemes that have recently become more prevalent, adult predators pretending to be young girls contact young males usually between the ages of 14 and 17 online over any platform used to meet and communicate, such as a game, app or social media accounts. They then use "deception and manipulation" to convince the young males to engage in explicit activity over video, which is then secretly recorded by the predator, the FBI says.

The family originally savored the beautiful views of the 15th fairway that abutted their property and the quiet neighborhood they felt so lucky to join in 2017, but soon golfers began showing up in droves and their once idyllic home turned into what felt like a battlefield, The Boston Globe reported. Windows were shattered, the siding on their home had numerous golf ball-sized dents and the Tenczars were genuinely afraid for their children’s safety. Over the past four years, Erik and Athina Tenczar gathered nearly 700 golf balls that landed on their property, according to The Globe. "When it hits, it sounds like a gunshot," Athina, 36, told The Globe.

Amtrak crash: Trial to begin for engineer in deadly 2015 Philadelphia train derailment

Engineer Brandon Bostian, 38, faces multiple charges in the deadly 2015 crash. PHILADELPHIA - The trial will begin Thursday for the Amtrak engineer charged in a deadly high-speed derailment that occurred back in 2015 in Philadelphia. Eight people died and nearly 200 were hurt when a New York-bound train jumped the track as it rounded the ‘Frankford Curve’ at more than twice the 50 mph speed limit in May 2015. Engineer Brandon Bostian, 38, faces multiple charges, including involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment, in the case. A jury will decide the fate of Brandon Bostian, who was behind the controls when Amtrak Northeast regional train 188 crashed on May 12, 2015. Analyst Bruce Gordon joins FOX 29 with more.National Transportation Safety Board investigators concluded Bostian lost his bearings while distracted by radio chatter about a nearby train that had been struck by a rock.

Man accidentally leaves sunroof open during heavy snowfall

SCITUATE, Mass. - A Massachusetts man got a big surprise on Valentine’s Day, but it wasn’t a surprise in the traditional sense. Steve Maguire, who ironically teaches meteorology to high schoolers, accidentally left the family van’s sunroof open before a heavy snow day. The family had been quarantined for several days after some family members contracted COVID-19 and had gotten a tad stir-crazy. Maguire figured it’d be a nice treat to drive around in the family van to get them out of the house. "We had the windows open, and we had the sunroof open, and it was 63 degrees here in Scituate, and it’s February, it’s amazing," Maguire told Boston 25 News.
