Coronavirus testing will now be rolled out to all essential workers and their families, Matt Hancock announced today. The Health Secretary said that from tomorrow, any essential worker who needs a COVID-19 test will be able to get one.

They can book a test themselves online. From today (Thursday), employers of essential workers can also book tests on the gov.uk website for any of their staff members who need one.

Families of essential workers and those who live in the same household will also be able to get tested. Speaking at the Downing Street press conference on Thursday (April 23), Mr Hancock said this dramatic expansion of the criteria for who can be tested for coronavirus will help to 'get Britain back on her feet'.
