London Heathrow will trial new coronavirus screening technologies including checking arriving passengers for high temperatures.
CEO John Holland-Kaye today informed the House of Commons Transport Committee the UK's busiest airport's new measures intend to minimise the risk of contracting or transmitting Covid-19 while travelling.
It will also limit the number of infected people entering the country. If successful, the new processes could form the basis of a Common International Standard for health screening at all global airports in the wake of the pandemic.
The Heathrow trial will consist of some previously tested strategies as well as completely new airport innovations. These include UV sanitation to quickly strip security trays of germs
