Dr Alex George has paid tribute to a nurse who tragically passed away after contracting coronavirus while working on the frontline.The former Love Island star, 29, who works in A&E, took to Twitter to express his sadness over the loss of 36-year-old Areema Nasreen.
He wrote: "We have lost another nurse today, Areema Nasreen who was only 36. Rest in peace". The mum-of-three, who was previously healthy, is reported to have died in the early hours of this morning, just two weeks after first being diagnosed with coronavirus.
Areema was said to have contracted COVID-19 after she treated a number of patients suspected of having the deadly bug. She was in intensive care at Walsall Manor Hospital in the West Midlands, where she had worked for 16.
