HARRISBURG - More than 2.6 million registered Pennsylvania voters have applied for a mail-in ballot as of Tuesday, three weeks before the Nov.

3 presidential election.The battleground state is being hotly contested by President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Of the applicants, more than 1.7 million are registered Democrats and about 641,000 are registered Republicans, according to state data.Another 284,000 ballots were requested by independent or third party voters.

WILMINGTON, Del. – Joe Biden campaigned Monday in Ohio, attempting to expand the battleground map and keep President Donald Trump on the defensive in a state thought to be out of reach for Democrats after Trump's wide margin of victory there four years ago.The Democratic presidential nominee stressed an economic message and touted his own record while casting Trump as having abandoned working-class voters who helped him win Rust Belt states that put him in the White House in 2016. In Toledo, Biden addressed United Auto Workers who represent a local General Motors’ powertrain plant.
