The Portland (ME) Press Herald (3/30, Russell) reports, “Pay increases for as many as 20,000 Maine direct care workers that were set to take place on July 1 will now go into effect three months sooner.” Gov.
Janet Mills (D) also said the state will increase “access to meals for older Mainers who might be home-bound.” Direct care workers are paid under Medicaid and include “personal support specialists, home health aides, private duty nurses, and others who care for residents in their homes.”.
