A man caught a giant rat after his grandchildren spotted its "long pink tail" running across the garden. Bobby McKinley lured the giant creature out from the bushes with cheese after his grandkids saw the beast when they came to stay before coronavirus lockdown.
The children were playing in the garden when they spotted the creature and described its chunky "long pink tail" to him. He initially thought it may have been a squirrel but concluded it must be a rat and set a trap for the animal.
Bobby told the Mirror he initially thought put chocolate on the trap but switched to cheese after he failed to catch it. He said: "About six weeks ago the grandchildren came to us and said they had seen a rat. "We would usually get squirrels and birds
