Opinion: City have found long-term successor to Yaya Toure Kevin De Bruyne has proved himself as the long-term replacement for Yaya Toure, who left City two years ago.
The Ivorian midfielder was an influential figure at the club, scoring 79 goals and providing 50 assists in 316 appearances during his time at the Etihad Stadium.
Toure was capable of almost single-handedly driving City to success and his departure for Olympiacos in 2018 signalled the end of one of the truly great City careers.
The gap left by the former Barcelona man has been filled by De Bruyne, though, with the Belgian establishing himself as City's talisman and one of the best players in world football.
