Manchester City should make a £20million profit on left back Angelino this summer. The Blues loaned the Spain under-21 international to Red Bull Leipzig in January, and he has undergone a spectacular revival with the title-chasing Saxons.

And the loan agreement includes an option to buy the 23-year-old for £26million, an option which the German club appear keen to take up.

Angelino has quickly staked a claim to a regular place in the side, either at left back or left wing, and has revived memories of the swashbuckling attacking talent who lit up City’s youth ranks.

He was excellent as the German side knocked Tottenham out of the Champions League last month, leading to the possibility his City career might not be over, after all.
