Tupac Shakur has signed on to receive benefits in the US — but all is not as it seems. A man who shares the same name as the late rapper signed up for unemployment checks in Kentucky.
And his name was so unbelievable to state Governor Andy Beshear that he accused him of benenfit fraud, according to TMZ. He criticised Tupac for disrupting the process and causing other people's payments to get delayed.
But it turns out that the Kentucky Tupac is genuine and has sadly fallen on hard times after losing his job in a restaurant due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Tupac, who prefers to use his middle name, Malik, says he was hurt, embarrassed and shocked by the Governor's comments. Beshear apparently called him to apologise and all is forgiven.
