NORTH PORT, Fla. - The family of Gabby Petito says Brian Laundrie's parents knew before going on a family vacation to Fort DeSoto park that their son had killed his girlfriend and left her body in a national park in Utah, according to new documents filed in Sarasota County court.Joseph Petito and Nichole Schmidt, Gabby's mother and father, filed a civil lawsuit against Laundrie's parents, accusing them of knowing their son murdered their daughter, but new documents shed light on when they are accused of knowing their son's alleged crimes. The lawsuit, which is expected to be heard by a jury in 2023, seeks more than $100,000 in damages for causing the Petitos pain, suffering, and mental anguish. According to court documents, the Petito family says Brian killed Gabby on August 27, 2021. "Her cause of death was blunt force injuries to the head and neck with manual strangulation," the suit says.The Petitos say Brian sent text messages to and from his and Gabby's phones in an effort to conceal that she was dead. NORRISTOWN, Pa. - Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane is back behind bars after she allegedly violated her probation when she was charged with driving under the influence last month. Kane surrendered to authorities in Montgomery County on Friday, a day after a judge had issued a bench warrant for her arrest. Last month, Scranton police were called to the scene of a two-car crash and said Kane was found behind the wheel of an Audi. Asked if she'd been drinking, Kane denied it, pointed to her passenger and said, "It's totally not me," an affidavit said.

Tom Wolf announced Friday that the state is ready to implement new ghost guns regulations.The new regulations will require a background check for partially manufactured frames and receivers at point of sale.Dealers and gunsmiths will also be required to serialize and inventory any unregistered firearms that come into their business.Wolf said ghost guns are an "untraceable threat to society" that are being seized and recovered from crime scenes at an alarming rate."The numbers don’t lie," he said.

PHILADELPHIA - A ride-share driver was on the job when police say he was shot in the back Thursday night.The shooting occurred at Cobbs Creek and Delancey streets in West Philadelphia around 9:58 p.m.The 50-year-old driver was shot in the back and arm by a man he was transporting, according to police.
