Mark said everyone should take the new mutant variation of the virus seriously after many of his loved ones were struck down with the deadly bug.

The Heart radio host took to Twitter to issue the stark warning, writing: "The Government have of course explained how fast this new variant is spreading, but I think it is hard to understand quite how fast." He added: "I cannot stress how many people I know, from immediate family to best friends and distant friends who currently have covid.
