Last month McDonald's fans were devastated as the fast food chain announced that it had taken the decision to close all of its restaurants in the UK.
But despite restaurants remaining closed, employees and franchisees have continued serving their local communities and supporting national organisations, helping those that need it the most.
Now McDonald's has decided to re-open one of its drive-thrus - but it's not to provide food. This week McDonald’s handed over use of its Meridian Business Park Drive Thru in Leicester for use by DHU Healthcare for COVID-19 testing for NHS workers.
McDonald's is yet to open any more drive-thrus for the same purposes, and has not yet released any plans to do so in Manchester.
