A McDonald's drive-thru was forced to close this afternoon following an issue with the huge volume of traffic and its till system.
The Elk Mill Retail Park branch in Royton, Oldham, was one of the dozens across the UK which reopened to customers this morning.
However, shortly after the fast food store had reopened, queues started to build in the area. Traffic alerts reported long queues leading up to the Elk Mill roundabout and on Broadway.
The store 'closed voluntarily' this afternoon to allow to traffic to clear then their IT system failed, a McDonald's spokesperson confirmed.
